You will travel by road from Bandar Seri Begawan, a 1.5 hour drive into the heart of the Tutong district. Tasek (Lake) Merimbun is the largest water lake in Brunei. The park which was declared an ASEAN National Heritage site in 1984 covers 7800 ha. The area is made up of extensive tracts of primary and secondary rainforest, coupled with large areas of peat swamp forest. The park has a rich flora and fauna and this unique biodiversity has attracted both local and foreign researchers. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, including borneo gibbons, Maroon Langur (Red leaf monkey), crocodile, many birds and more than 40 species of dragonfly. The area is also interesting botanically, and has numerous pitcher plants and orchids.
Brunei blessed with rich oil reserves, has been spared excessive logging and oil palm plantations. This has resulted in the largest intact forests in Borneo, guaranteeing large amounts of wildlife.

Day 1
0700 - Depart Bandar Seri Begawan to Tutong district
breakfast at local cafe

trek to base camp

enjoy local lunch (leaf platter)
exploring the tropical rain forest, traditional herb medicine sampling.

refresh yourself swimming in the river
1800 - enjoy local delicacy (Dinner)
1900 - short night walk
wild animals, firefly and more.
2100 - sleep in tent (tent, roll matt, inflatable pillow and blanket provided)
Day 2
0500 - rise up for coffee and a dawn walk to the traditional hiding place wild life watching.
0900 - returning to the camp site, breakfast and coffee.
free leisure
swim in the river, relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the rain forest.
1200 - walk out from the rain forest and back to the starting point.
lunch at local cafe
1500 - we should be back to your hotel- tour ends
What to wear
no brightly coloured clothing, rubber boots provided, mosquitoes repellent.
