Jeram Besu river (Class I to III)
A river with high siltation located near Benta, Pahand State. The run here is shorter than most rivers and its best to combine it with an overnight or 2 night stay at a country resort where there are other extra fun outdoor activities to combine. The resort includes affordable a/c accommodations to go with their other activities.
What's fantastic about this location is that it provides activities for a fun family, student excursion or corporate teambuilding getaway. You can also just be a hermit and do nothing here. Not only are there quaint towns to visit for gastronomic delights, a short drive will get you to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary and Deerland Park.
Gold mining is back in operations in this parts as well.
What do I get to do?
Spend a great time out in nature by rafting some fun rapids and sharing more memorable activities such as caving, trekking, 4X4 off-road ride and visiting a beancurd and groundnut factory.
Nearby, there is the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary where you can get upclose to pachyderms to feed, bathe and ride safely. Elephants here are rehabilitated after being collected from farmlands where they are seen as a threat, have been injured or lost from their herd. This is a fantastic destination for adults and children to bond. We have taken orphanages here together with corporates and they absolutely loved it. There is also an orang asli village and deer park which is aptly called Deerland Park. At this park there are 2 sun bears, indonesian deers, ostriches, wild fowls, macaque monkeys, peacock and possibly new additions by the time you read this. If you have a group, we can organise a private trip for you.
