Kite boarding or kite-surfing is a radical and extreme sport taking the world by storm. It is the fastest growing extreme sport in the world. It is ranked in the top 5 position by many travel and sports magazines and thrill seekers.

Originating in Hawaii in the early 90’s, a group of windsurfers took to the idea of blending both windsurfing and surfing techniques and applying them to this new sport.

In Malaysia, we haven't lost out as we have a group of kiters who picked up the sport over the past 2 yrs and progressed immensely. Even though the group is small, it is growing quite rapidly and we even have a few ladies who are doing very well in this sport.

The initial learning stage is to practice on a trainer kite for at least a few hours to get the hang of the maneuverability and power of the kite. Once you have mastered this stage, you can move on to the "body drag", which is getting wet and trying to master the kite techniques in the water.

Be the early birds to embrace the exhilarating sport of Kite-boarding at Balok beach, Kuantan! Glide across the sea! Leap across crashing waves at blistering speeds powered by warm South China Sea winds! Tame the winds with your bare hands!

Conducted by a famous water sports operator in Malaysia, the lessons normally takes 3 days for an individual to master the sport. The training emphasises more on practical than theory – that means more fun for you!
Located just 15km north of Kuantan town, Balok beach is one of the top ten beaches for windsurfing in the world and has played host to many world-class windsurfers as well as other water sports enthusiasts.

For the last 5 years, this beach has been a favourite of the Asian Windsurfing Tour (AWT) where the best windsurfers congregate to win the much coveted AWT crown.

Allow WHOA! to prepare you a vacation filled with kiteboarding excitement as well as other adventures in Malaysia! We arrange accommodation too!
