Melinau Gorge in Camp 5, MuluMulu is Malaysia's adventure capital. Challenging jungle hikes, magnificent World Heritage caves, the 'Pinnacles', homestays in longhouses with native tribes and all set in the prettiest of tropical jungle landscape. Mulu is so teeming with adventure that we had to dedicated a whole section to it.

We went to great lengths to pull the most unique adventures in Mulu, and in wide variety. Choose to mountain bike to Mulu, swim or raft the rivers, climb the 'Pinnacles' or Mount Mulu, hike the once feared 'Head hunter's trail', burrow deeply in adventure caves, search out wildlife or choose to do it all at a leisurely pace, it's all here and just for you.
Many of these adventures here are totally unique and cannot be found elsewhereBrowse on...

Our featured partner

Clive LimClive Lim is local to Mulu. Born and raised in Limbang, Sarawak (a short boat ride from Mulu), he lives and breathes adventure. If he's not running up the mountains, he's adventure caving on all fours, or cruising down the rivers searching out wildlife. We handpicked him for his sense of responsibility to the communities around Mulu and his straight up honesty.

He works closely with the local native tribes to ensure they are involved in every way of your stay: the longhouse accommodation, the boatmen, guides and porters. He contributes back to the community in a big way. He's also slowly educating them to appreciate the value of eco-tourism, and to turn from their traditional hunting ways. And their respect and admiration in return for Clive is outstanding. Your dollar is ultimately contributed back to the community.

Clive runs an outfit of professional certified guides that will ensure you have a memorable adventure in Mulu.

Clive was featured in an Australian newspaper. Download article here 0, 1, 2, 3.

Information on Mulu

The main attractions around Mulu are:
- World Heritage Site Mulu Caves, 4 show caves: Deer, Lang's, Clearwater and Wind cave.
  * Deer cave - the single largest cave passage known to man and home to millions of free tailed naked bats

  * Clearwater cave - named after an underground river system that flows through the cave systems and culminates with high velocity through this chamber. This is the longest underground river in South East Asia.

  * Lang's cave - containing gorgeous formations that adorn the walls
  * Wind cave - named after  its natural air conditioning and containing colourfully named chambers  such as King's and Lady's chamber.
  * Sarawak Chamber - this is thought to be the largest known cave chamber in the world. (adventure caving only)

- 'The Pinnacles' - a series of limestone razors that mystically jut out half way up Mount Api. The trail is only 2.4kms but the ascension is 1200m up a steep path to a viewpoint  looking out over the Pinnacles.  This is Malaysia's 5 star hike.

- The Headhunter's Trail - an 11.3 km trek through the jungle of mostly flat terrain. Retrace the steps of the Kayan headhunting war parties who paddled the same route a hundred years ago through the Mulu area to attack Murut Longhouses and Chinese farmers. This trail takes 4-5 hours to  reach 'Camp 5', the base site for the ascension up the Pinnacles. Download map of the Headhunter's Trail here ( (670Kb).

- Mount Mulu - rising up to 2377m above sea level, the trek to the summit of Mount Mulu requires advanced planning and will take 4 days / 3 nights.
